If all this “designing without tables” stuff is a bit confusing, here’s a great, old Jeffrey Zeldman article explaining the transition made by the guy who wrote the book on web standards. No, he literally wrote THE BOOK on web standards. The article gives a great background on the theory behind why this is the right thing to do.
