My Turn at the Podium
This coming Tuesday, August 22, I will be giving an internal presentation at Aptima called “WebVisions 2006 Recap”. I took so much from that conference that I need to let the information bleed out to those that are interested. My presentation was recently upgraded from a “grassroots” brown bag (BYO Lunch) to one where pizza and salad are provided. So, where there is free food there is sure to be a larger turnout. For those that don’t know, the company is in the 110 employee range (not sure because we’re rapidly hiring… interested?).
The basis of my presentation will be the sessions I attended, but I will have several technology “breakout examples”. For example, I will use the CSS Zen Garden to explain CSS-based design for web standards. I have a few “evolution of a header” slides to demonstrate semantic markup. Social informaion architecture is demonstrated through Del.icio.us. I also mark up an hCard using Microformats. Plus, as they say… “and more!”
I’m up to 76 slides, following the “show ‘em a ton of slides, but fly through them rapidly” approach. I’m looking forward to talking about all of this new technology that I’m really excited about. I’ll be recording the session to post on the blog and as well as sharing my slides.
Adam,
As your presentation will be covering/demonstrating microformats, I strongly encourage you to add an entry to the “events” page on the microformats.org wiki:
http://microformats.org/wiki/events
And link to your blog post, details of the event etc.
Thanks,
Tantek
