Sunday 10/31/2024: Rookie of the Year winners announced The 2024 The Kid Rookie of the Year winner is from Rhode Island this season. Brent Bakin put together impressive numbers for a rookie en route to win the first major award of his career. Let's hope more will follow for this 24 year old ballplayer. Bakin has hit 25 bombs this year while batting .327. He adds 14 doubles, along with 92 runs scored. Cristian Martinez was named the Splendid Splinter Rookie of the Year winner today. Denton's centerfielder put up pretty good numbers for a rookie this year. This 20 year old kid will probably have a long and successful career! His season features a batting average of .319 (171 hits in 536 AB), 26 doubles, 8 triples and 6 homeruns. Martinez collected 84 RBI and 77 runs as well. He's 6th in the Splendid Splinter in batting! |
Wednesday 10/20/2024: Rhode Island's Hebbler severely injured, out for season RHODE ISLAND - Rhode Island's shortstop Rey Hebbler will miss the rest of the season. He injured himself running the bases in the game between Rhode Island and Brooklyn. The injury didn't seem to be serious the moment it happened. But suddenly Hebbler collapsed in pain and had to be carried off the field. After being examined by several specialists the diagnosis is clear: Ruptured Achilles Tendon. Hebbler has walked 53 times this year and posts a .347 OBP. While batting .290, 174 for 599, he has driven in 98 runs. |
Sunday 10/10/2024: Jonathon Hinton out for 5 weeks PLYMPTON - Plympton's pitcher Jonathon Hinton was part of a scary incident that saw the right-hander being hit by a line drive in the 4th inning of the game between Plympton and Rhode Island. Team trainers immediately rushed onto the field after the frightening scene. Hinton will miss about 5 weeks. Hinton was rushed to an hospital near the ballpark, where doctors took x-rays. Those revealed the serious injury, Fractured Hand. Opposing players hit .238 against Jonathon this season. While posting an ERA of 3.86 he went 7-5 in 0 starts, fanning 86 and walking 30 hitters. |
Wednesday 10/6/2024: Season ending injury strikes Nagano's Blizzard NAGANO - Nagano's ace Reginald Blizzard will not pitch again this year, suffering a serious injury in the game against Chicago on Wednesday. After being taken to a local hospital, Blizzard was examined by specialists. The diagnosis revealed the sad truth, a Torn Back Muscle. In 27 starts this year Reginald struck out 200 batters in 162.2 innings of work. His ERA is 2.32, his record 16-3. He has one complete game and one shutout. Monday 10/4/2024: Long Beach's Esparza wins Player of the Week award leftfielder Carl Zimmerman had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the The Kid Player of the Week. In 25 at bats he hit .600 with 0 HR and 6 RBI. Eddie Esparza wins his 2nd Player of the Week award. Splendid Splinter pitchers couldn't figure out how to retire this guy all week long. Eddie went 14 for 29 (.483), while hitting 2 HR and collecting 9 RBI. He got at least one hit each game this week and is on a 7 game hitting streak right now. |
Friday 10/1/2024: Springfield's Percival earns Pitcher of the Month award Springfield's pitcher Steve Percival is the The Kid winner of the Pitcher of the Month award in September. He struck out 29 hitters in his 6 starts, putting together a record of 3-3 while pitching 29 innings. His ERA in September was 1.51. Steve also fired a shutout. Opposing players hit .242 against Steve this season. While posting an ERA of 2.79 he went 15-12 in 33 starts, fanning 149 and walking 33 hitters. Steve has pitched 2 shutouts and 3 complete games. Monday 9/27/2024: Juan Guillaume uncorks cycle hits against Philly PHILLY - New York's shortstop Juan Guillaume accomplished a difficult feat in a game against Philly, hitting for the cycle to improve his career batting average to .262! His 1st hit, off Josue Martinez in the 1st inning, was a three-run homerun and cleared the fence in left field. A RBI triple off Lester Denney in the 4th inning, accounted for his 2nd hit. Number 3 in the 5th inning accounted for a RBI double. A single in the 9th off Chris Scanz accounted for his 4th hit. That drive completed the cycle, causing a smile on his face! Juan scored 4 runs, and he collected 5 RBI as well! He now has a total of 145 hits this season, accounting for a .262 batting average. He becomes the 18th player in league history collect at least a single, double, triple and a homerun in a single game. On 8/11/2024, Mauro Burgos was the last player to hit for the cycle. |

Thursday 9/23/2024: Rapid City has no chance in a 2-hitter by Julio Camacho LONG ISLAND - It was a great day for Long Island's right-hander Julio Camacho. The 26-year old recorded his first career shutout, a 2-hitter, against Rapid City on Thursday. Camacho (14-8) struck out 5 and walked none, throwing 58 of 94 pitches for strikes. 'Things like that happen. You take the mound and everything works. My velocity was pretty good today and I guess it showed.' Monday 9/20/2024: Bakin and Nordin win Player of the Week award Rhode Island's first baseman Brent Bakin had some reason to celebrate, as the league named him the The Kid Player of the Week. Friday 9/17/2024: Freddy Castillo fires 2-hitter against New York NEW YORK - With his best stuff going, Oregon's Freddy Castillo overmatched the opposing hitters all day long. New York had no chance, collecting just 2 hits against the right-hander. 'Things like that happen. You take the mound and everything works. My velocity was pretty good today and I guess it showed.' Castillo (17-12) fanned 4 and walked 2, throwing 118 pitches. Oregon's catcher Averardo Espinoza stroked 4 hits in 4 AB, doubling once, scoring three runs. Wednesday 9/15/2024: Brooklyn's Polly out for the season BROOKLYN - Brooklyn's rightfielder Ross Polly suffered a season ending injury when he hurt himself diving for a ball. He collapsed in pain and was helped off the field. Brooklyn wasted no time and rushed him to an hospital. Team officials were informed later that Polly had suffered a Ruptured Disc Back. His season features a batting average of .311 (166 hits in 534 AB), 12 doubles, one triple and 21 longballs. Polly collected 86 RBI and 101 runs as well. |
Monday 9/13/2024: Rocky Harris shuts out Long Island on 2 hits LONG ISLAND - Long Island's hitters looked uncomfortable, and San Francisco's Rocky Harris didn't help them. The right-hander fired his 1st shutout of the season, a 2-hitter. Harris (10-7) struck out 4 and walked none, throwing 65 of 104 pitches for strikes. 'I had a good grip on the ball today and I was able to put it where I wanted. That kept them out of balance.' San Francisco's catcher Ed Schellins finished with 2 hits in 4 AB, doubling once, and collecting 2 RBI. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Harris. Sunday 9/12/2024: Oregon's Ernie Moore has great day, hits three longballs PHILLY - Ernie Moore was in a groove, and the results spoke for themselves. He powered Oregon to a 12-4 win over Philly by homering three times. His 1st shot, a solo homerun off Juan Vargas in the 2nd inning, cleared the fence in right-center. His 2nd blast, a GRAND SLAM off Juan Vargas in the 4th inning, landed an estimated 433 feet from home plate. Number 3 in the 6th inning, a shot estimated at 445 feet, cleared the wall in center field. Ernie finished 4 for 5, scoring three runs and driving in 9 runs. |
Wednesday 9/8/2024: Philly has no chance in a 1-hitter by Mike Perkins LONG BEACH - Great days are rare. But not for Long Beach's right-hander Mike Perkins. Philly found out the hard way that he is among the leagues top pitchers, getting just one hit. It's his 1st shutout this season, and the 9th time he has done it in his career. With one out in the 8th inning Austin Loyd singled to break up the no-hitter. 'That was one of the best games of my career. I had my stuff working very well today.' Perkins (12-6) struck out an astounding 13 and walked none, throwing 71 of 100 pitches for strikes. Monday 9/6/2024: Denton's McMullen out for 6 weeks DENTON - Denton's ace Everett McMullen suffered a severe injury on Monday and will be out for at least 6 weeks. In the 1st of the game against Oregon he experienced pain in his throwing arm and had to leave the game. Doctors examined him after the game and diagnosed a Strained Tricep Muscle which will require surgery. Opposing players hit .264 against Everett this season. He injured himself while throwing a pitch to Cecil Anchondo in a game against Long Beach. His face showed signs of pain immediately after the ball left his hand. After being examined by several specialists the diagnosis is clear: Torn Tricep Muscle. George has a record of 9-7 this season, with an ERA of 3.75. In 158.1 Innings he was able to strike out 106 batters. |
Wednesday 8/18/2024: Steve Percival dominates Denton, throws NO-HITTER SPRINGFIELD - Steve Percival had some fun again. REAL fun. Denton hitters did not. Springfield's right-hander fired a no-hitter in his 1st shutout of the season. He now has 5 career shutouts in 207 games started. 'I really like to play baseball, and I love the way I was able to play it today. I still cannot believe I did it.' Percival (11-8) struck out 7 and issued 2 BB, throwing 58 of 99 pitches for strikes. The hitting star for Springfield was rightfielder Dave Coto, he went 3 for 5, with 3 RBI. Springfield improved its record to 70-50, scoring 5 runs on 12 hits. |

Saturday 8/14/2024: Reggie Czech uncorks five hits against Rock Rapids ROCK RAPIDS - Reggie Czech hits 'em where they ain't. Rock Rapids certainly agrees as Carolina's designated hitter unloaded five hits, adding to his reputation of being one of the best pure hitters in the game. A pitch from Mickey Pecora in the 5th inning left his bat for a double. A pitch from Mickey Pecora in the 7th inning left his bat for a double. His 5th hit, a solo homerun off Jose Leyva in the 11th inning, landed an estimated 404 feet from home plate. He collected singles in the 2nd (one RBI) and in the 9th inning . Wednesday 8/11/2024: Mordecai Jeffers out for 5 weeks LAS VEGAS - Las Vegas' first baseman Mordecai Jeffers will miss at least 5 weeks after he got hurt seriously while running hard toward second base. He began limping and then fell down, causing a scary moment for his teammates. He had to be carried off the field. Strained Back Muscle was the diagnosis after x-rays were taken in a nearby hospital. The message shocked teammates and team officials. Jeffers has walked 67 times this year and posts a .421 OBP. While batting .320, 131 for 409, he has driven in 61 runs. Wednesday 8/11/2024: Mauro Burgos on fire, hits for cycle DUBLIN - Dublin's first baseman Mauro Burgos once again displayed his tremendous ability to make contact with that little white ball. He tore up Carolina's pitching staff with a 5 hit performance on Wednesday. Number 1 in the 1st inning accounted for a RBI double. His 2nd hit was a RBI triple off Samuel Cabrera in the 3rd inning. A single in the 5th off Samuel Cabrera accounted for his 3rd hit. Number 4 in the 7th inning, a shot estimated at 402 feet, cleared the wall in right field. That drive completed the cycle, causing a smile on his face! A single in the 8th off Mino Orellana accounted for his 5th hit. Mauro did drive in 5 while scoring 2 runs on his own. Thursday 7/22/2024: Earl Miller out for 7 weeks DAKOTA - Dakota is without its ace Earl Miller for at least 7 weeks. He injured himself while throwing a pitch to Francis Allie in a game against Denton. His face showed signs of pain immediately after the ball left his hand. After x-rays were taken the diagnosis did not surprise many: Herniated Disc Back. Surgery will be performed next week. This season Miller compiled an ERA of 6.81, going 0-0 in 1 starts. Wednesday 7/7/2024: Tod Flake NO-HITS Dakota DAKOTA - Dakota's bats were sleeping, and Long Beach's Tod Flake gave them no chance at all to wake up. He was untouchable in firing a no-hitter in his 15th game started this season. 'Giving my team a chance to win is the most important thing for me. I was able to do it today, and it's especially nice to do it in such fashion.' Flake (1-2) was overpowering, fanning 10 while walking 2, throwing 109 pitches. Long Beach's shortstop Marshall Karg stroked 4 hits in 6 AB, doubling once, and collecting 3 RBI. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Flake. Wednesday 7/7/2024: Ramon Menendez clubs six hits in a game NAGANO - Ramon Menendez punished Nagano's pitching today, collecting six hits in 6 AB. That definitely helped Chicago, they won the game 11 to 5. Number 3 in the 5th inning accounted for a RBI double. A pitch from Kuzuhiko Taki in the 7th inning left his bat for a two-run double. He had singles in the 1st inning , in the 3rd inning , in the 8th and in the 9th inning (one RBI). Ramon scored 2 runs, and he collected 4 RBI as well! Saturday 6/12/2024: Rapid City's Neil Semes gets the cycle RAPID CITY - Rapid City's rightfielder Neil Semes once again displayed his tremendous ability to make contact with that little white ball. He tore up Carolina's pitching staff with a 4 hit performance on Saturday. In the 2nd inning he belted a double off Rube Matthews. His 2nd hit was a RBI triple off Rube Matthews in the 4th inning. A single in the 7th off Rube Matthews accounted for his 3rd hit. In the 9th inning he unloaded a solo homerun off Curt Twyne. His final hit of the game capped his performance as it won the game, setting the crowd on fire! That drive completed the cycle, causing a smile on his face! Neil did drive in 2 while scoring 2 runs on his own. He's having a very good season so far, batting .305. 16 players in league history have so far hit for the cycle, including Neil. On 4/16/2024, Kinnosuke Momoru was the last player to hit for the cycle. |

Tuesday 6/1/2024: Homestead has no chance in a 1-hitter by Darwin Vanhoy HOMESTEAD - Great days are rare. But not for Las Vegas' southpaw Darwin Vanhoy. Homestead found out the hard way that he is among the leagues top pitchers, getting just one hit. It's his 2nd shutout this season, and the 2nd time he has done it in his career. With two outs in the 8th inning Tony Zajicek singled to break up the no-hitter. 'They took some ugly cuts at my breaking stuff, so I kept throwing it. Fortunately they were not able to adjust in time.' Vanhoy (4-3) showed excellent control, walking nobody and fanning 5. Las Vegas' centerfielder Kenneth Nemec collected 3 hits in 7 trips to the plate, and collecting 5 RBI. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Vanhoy. And George Knapp did so today, in a no-hit shutout against Rapid City. Charlie Lopez spoiled the bid for a perfect game when he walked with no outs in the 5th inning. Knapp (5-5) fanned 8 and walked 2, throwing 99 pitches. 'My catcher called a very good game. I have to give credit to him. He was the main reason I accomplished this feat.' Tuesday 5/25/2024: Reginald Blizzard turns in great performance against Chicago NAGANO - It was a great day for Nagano's right-hander Reginald Blizzard. The 27-year old recorded his first career shutout, a 2-hitter, against Chicago on Tuesday. 'Pitching a great game is always a good thing. And it doesn't get much better than today.' Blizzard (6-1) struck out an astounding 14 and walked none, throwing 64 of 92 pitches for strikes. Sunday 5/9/2024: Dublin's Spires out for the season DUBLIN - Dublin's right-hander Dennis Spires experienced probably the worst case scenario for a pitcher, a season ending injury. After pitching in the 8th inning of the game against Las Vegas, Spires complained about serious pain in his throwing arm. He had to leave the game. Torn Bicep Muscle was the diagnosis after x-rays were taken in a nearby hospital. The message shocked teammates and team officials. Dennis has a record of 1-2 this season, with an ERA of 3.55. In 12.2 Innings he was able to strike out 4 batters. |
Thursday 5/6/2024: Jeff Hernandez drills 5 hits LAS VEGAS - Jeff Hernandez hits 'em where they ain't. Seattle certainly agrees as Las Vegas' third baseman unloaded five hits, adding to his reputation of being one of the best pure hitters in the game. A 390 foot drive to right field marked his 4th hit, a three-run homerun off Matt Richards in the 7th inning. Number 5 in the 8th inning, a shot estimated at 356 feet, cleared the wall in right field. He had singles in the 2nd inning , in the 4th inning and in the 6th inning . Jeff scored 2 runs, and he collected 7 RBI as well! This season has been a good one for him so far, as he has 35 hits in 108 at bats, resulting in a .324 batting average. The final score of the game was 10-5. |
Thursday 5/6/2024: Bernie McMillin out for 5 weeks DUBLIN - Dublin's season took a blow when Bernie McMillin suffered a serious injury in the game against Homestead. He hurt his arm throwing a strike to first base. McMillin will probaby miss 5 weeks. After x-rays were taken the diagnosis did not surprise many: Pulled Tricep Muscle. Surgery will be performed next week. He has hit 2 bombs while batting .275 this season. His 30 hits and 4 walks add up to a .325 on-base percentage. |
Monday 5/3/2024: Brunstetter (PAT) and Thompson (RAP) win P.O.W. award The The Kid Player of the Week award goes to Lydon Brunstetter, Patrone's starting catcher. Lydon pounded opposing pitchers, hitting .500 with 4 HR and 10 RBI while slugging 1.182. He got at least one hit each game this week and is on a 7 game hitting streak right now. The Splendid Splinter Player of the Week award goes to Clarence Thompson, one of Rapid City's best starting pitchers. He was in a zone all week, compiling an ERA of 0.53 while going 2-0. He hurled a shutout as well. |
Saturday 5/1/2024: Homestead's Shea severely injured HOMESTEAD - Homestead's pitcher Jack Shea was part of a scary incident that saw the right-hander being hit by a line drive in the 4th inning of the game between Homestead and Plympton. Team trainers immediately rushed onto the field after the frightening scene. Shea will miss about 4-5 weeks. After x-rays were taken the diagnosis did not surprise many: Broken Jaw. Surgery will be performed next week. This season Shea compiled an ERA of 7.41, going 0-1 in 5 starts. He fanned 6 while giving up 25 hits in 17 innings. |
Saturday 5/1/2024: Las Vegas' Vanhoy earns Pitcher of the Month award Las Vegas' Darwin Vanhoy had a terrific April, and it earned him the The Kid Pitcher of the month award. His record of 3-0 in 3 was among the leagues best this month. In 21.1 innings of work he allowed just 19 hits while striking out 11, compiling an ERA of just 1.69. Darwin also fired a shutout. Winner of this months Splendid Splinter Pitcher of the Month award is Nagano's Stan Kuhn. His ERA of just 0.86 helped him to a 2-0 record in April. He worked 31.1 innings, striking out 28 hitters while walking 6. |
Saturday 5/1/2024: Red hot Brunstetter and Taylor win Batter of the Month award The The Kid Batter of the Month award goes to Lydon Brunstetter, Patrone's starting catcher. Brunstetter helped his team with an average of .366 and 23 RBI in 82 at bats. Woody Taylor of Fall River wins his 1st Batter of the Month award for putting up the best numbers in the Splendid Splinter. He hit .356 with 20 RBI and slugged .644 in 90 at bats. |
Thursday 4/29/2024: Long Beach's Holcomb out for 6 weeks LONG BEACH - Long Beach's lefty Leo Holcomb suffered a severe injury on Thursday and will be out for at least 6 weeks. In the 1st of the game against Nagano he experienced pain in his throwing arm and had to leave the game. Long Beach wasted no time and rushed him to an hospital. Team officials were informed later that Holcomb had suffered a Strained Elbow Ligament. Leo has a record of 2-0 this season, with an ERA of 5.68. In 6.1 Innings he was able to strike out 5 batters. |
Thursday 4/29/2024: Homestead's Rick Loden slams three taters SPRINGFIELD - Rick Loden can hit'em a long way, and Springfield pitchers couldn't smile about that today. Homestead's second baseman unloaded three bombs, adding to his reputation of being one of the best power hitters in the game. Number 1 in the 5th inning, a shot estimated at 418 feet, cleared the wall in left-center. His 2nd blast, a three-run homerun off Don Espinosa in the 6th inning, landed an estimated 446 feet from home plate. His 3rd shot, off Jim Agostini in the 8th inning, was a three-run homerun and cleared the fence in center field. Overall he collected 3 hits in 5 trips to the plate, with three runs scored and collecting 8 RBI. His homerun total this year is 11, along with 30 RBI. On 4/11/2024, Woody Taylor was the last player to hit 3 dingers in a single game. Homestead scored 12 runs on 9 hits. |
Thursday 4/29/2024: Ben Fan turns in great performance against Rhode Island BROOKLYN - All you need to win is a dominating pitching performance. And Brooklyn's Ben Fan did so today, in a 2-hit shutout against Rhode Island. Fan (2-3) fanned 7 and walked 1, throwing 97 pitches. 'I really like to play baseball, and I love the way I was able to play it today.' Brooklyn's catcher Rigoberto Muņoz stroked 2 hits in 4 AB, homering once, and collecting 2 RBI. That was enough to support the brilliant performance of Fan. The final score of the game was 2-0. |
Monday 4/26/2024: Las Vegas' Vanhoy wins Player of the Week award The The Kid's best player of the week was Las Vegas' Darwin Vanhoy, who wins the award for the 1st time in his career. Darwin went 2-0 with an ERA of 1.84, while fanning 7 in 14.2 innings of work. He hurled a shutout as well. It's the 1st time that the Splendid Splinter Player of the Week award goes to Nagano's second baseman Pit Rohrbaugh. In 32 at bats he hit .469 with 2 HR and 10 RBI. He hit in every game this week and extended his hitting streak to 13 games. His season features a batting average of .405 (30 hits in 74 AB), 6 doubles, one triple and 2 taters. Thursday 4/22/2024: Brent Bakin out for 6 weeks RHODE ISLAND - Being hit with a pitch is no fun at all. Especially when you get injured. Rhode Island's first baseman Brent Bakin will miss about 6 weeks after being hit by Andy Brittingham in the 7th inning of the game between Rhode Island and Carolina. Broken Cheekbone was the diagnosis after x-rays were taken in a nearby hospital. The message shocked teammates and team officials. Bakin has walked 9 times this year and posts a .362 OBP. While batting .254, 15 for 59, he has driven in 15 runs. |
Wednesday 4/21/2024: Long Beach's Pidgeon severely injured LONG BEACH - When it rains, it pours. Long Beach's left-hander Eddie Pidgeon will not pitch for at least 8 weeks, handing the team a huge setback. He suffered a serious injury in a game against Nagano where he left the field in the 7th inning. Pidgeon was rushed to an hospital near the ballpark, where doctors took x-rays. Those revealed the serious injury, Pulled Rotator Cuff Muscle. This season Pidgeon compiled an ERA of 1.02, going 2-0 in 3 starts. He fanned 11 while giving up 11 hits in 17.2 innings. |
Monday 4/19/2024: New York's Momoru wins Player of the Week award The The Kid's best player of the week was Rhode Island's Jeremy Hackl, who wins the award for the 1st time in his career. He hit .542 with 5 RBI and slugged .958 in 24 at bats. New York's leftfielder Kinnosuke Momoru had some reason to celebrate as well, as the league named him the Splendid Splinter Player of the Week. He hit .538 with 9 RBI and slugged 1.077 in 26 at bats. His season features a batting average of .375 (18 hits in 48 AB), 3 doubles, one triple and 4 longballs. Momoru collected 10 RBI and 11 runs as well. He's 7th in the Splendid Splinter in batting! |

Friday 4/16/2024: New York's Kinnosuke Momoru gets the cycle LONG ISLAND - Kinnosuke Momoru hits 'em where they ain't. Long Island certainly agrees as New York's centerfielder unloaded four hits and hitting for the cycle. A single in the 1st off Gaylord Forest accounted for his 1st hit. A pitch from Gaylord Forest in the 6th inning left his bat for a double. His 3rd hit, a GRAND SLAM off Ricky Taylor in the 7th inning, cleared the fence in center field. Hit number 4 followed in the 8th inning, a triple. That drive completed the cycle, causing a smile on his face! Kinnosuke scored one run, and he collected 4 RBI as well! This season has been a good one for him so far, as he has 16 hits in 40 at bats, resulting in a .400 batting average. 15 players in league history have so far hit for the cycle, including Kinnosuke. Thursday 4/15/2024: New York's Kinnosuke Momoru mashes five hits DAKOTA - New York's centerfielder Kinnosuke Momoru accomplished a difficult feat in a 12-5 win over Dakota, drilling five hits to improve his career batting average to .282! His 1st hit, a solo homerun off Kid McMillin in the 2nd inning, landed an estimated 429 feet from home plate. A pitch from William Harbaugh in the 8th inning left his bat for a solo homerun, landing 417 feet from home plate in right-center. He had singles in the 4th inning , in the 5th inning and in the 6th . Kinnosuke scored 5 runs, and he collected 2 RBI as well! Sunday 4/11/2024: Fall River's Woody Taylor has great day, hits three longballs NEW YORK - Fall River's second baseman Woody Taylor flexed his muscles and displayed his tremendous power, homering three times in a 13-3 win over New York. In the 5th inning he unloaded a two-run homerun off Pete Dawes. The game was tied, 2-2, after the blast. Number 2 in the 6th inning, a shot estimated at 391 feet, cleared the wall in right-center. His 3rd shot, off Soeren Moten in the 8th inning, was a three-run homerun and cleared the fence in left field. Woody collected 4 hits in 5 trips to the plate, hitting a double, scoring FOUR runs and collecting 6 RBI. Pete Durgan was the last player to hit 3 homeruns in a game, doing it 10/18/2023. Fall River improved its record to 5-2, scoring 13 runs on 18 hits. |

In the 7th of the game against New York he experienced pain in his throwing arm and had to leave the game. After being taken to a local hospital, Palmeiro was examined by specialists. The diagnosis revealed the sad truth, a Ruptured Tricep Tendon. |

Sunday 4/11/2024: Seattle's Bobby Mullins ropes five hits SEATTLE - Bobby Mullins led Seattle to a 15-1 win over Transilvania by squeezing five hits out of his bat. His 2nd hit was a two-run double off Art Stella in the 2nd inning. A 420 foot drive to right-center marked his 3rd hit, a GRAND SLAM off Lonnie Mackey in the 3rd inning. His 4th hit, a two-run homerun off Harry Duquette in the 4th inning, cleared the fence in center field. His 5th hit was a RBI double off Jot Lininger in the 8th inning.
